Bird feeders

Randy likes bird feeders and he's got us all hooked on watching the birds...including Tucker! This weekend I got new hummingbird and gold finch feeders. Randy comes in from outside and says he's got the first one setup. He didn't want to put a nail in the house trim so he rigged up something else. This is what I found outside.

Can you see the green feeder on top? (Finally "they" have come up with some options for hummingbird feeders. This one even matches my interior decor!)

Garden Shed Project

The garden shed is well underway. These are pictures from over 5 years ago, right after we moved in. These beauties are NOT what sold us on the house! They did come in very handy for storing outside tools...until a skunk made its house under the shed on the right. (The left shed had no floor, it was the first burn pile.)

I made it official. I parked the rototiller inside and hid an ugly wheelbarrow behind it! I can't wait to make a "cute" garden shed with antique windows I found at a garage sale, old barn doors with big black hinges, and a creamer that sat on my parents' front porch since I was a kid or before...must be antique!

Finger Elbows???

Kaylee was knocking on the freshly washed windows. I asked her not to touch the windows because her hands make them dirty. She says, "I'm not using my hands, I'm using my finger elbows." (knuckles)

Latest News: There's not much happening around here.

Well, there's ALWAYS a project in progress so I'll post about that. We are currently in the application process of putting in a new septic system so we can ADD ON!!! YEAH! We have a contractor lined up for the end of summer (the first available time for him, I was ready to start the project months ago, about 60 months ago!) These are the latest pictures of the house, taken just a few weeks ago. We are adding a split level addition onto the right of the house picture below. The little one story section you see is an entry addition we added last summer. (This is the back of the house.)

This is the front so the addition will be off to the left.

We are planning a master bedroom/bathroom, move the laundry over, and a main floor powder room on the upper floor and a playroom and two small guest rooms on the lower floor. And, closet space! This 1920 house does not have sufficient storage, but of course I probably have too much to store too. I'm not excited about doubling the square footage of vacuuming, but I am VERY excited about giving the girls separate rooms, guest rooms, play room, and full pantry after the current laundry room moves over. Besides, all the extra work? that's how the kids earn allowance money...big financial opportunities for the little ones!

Randy is currently building a garden shed that I will show pictures of next time. (I have to figure out how to use my color scanner to show a before and after picture.) Until then...
